Sheila Mojtehedi is Special Counsel. She is a civil and criminal litigator with experience in State and Federal courts.  Sheila is brilliant in strategizing persuasive legal and factual arguments, and is incredibly successful in winning matters in court via thorough research and creative legal theories.  Several of Ms. Mojtehedi’s successes include her persuasion of the District Court in a securities fraud matter to permit retroactive service of process through social media, which the court observed was the first decision of its kind; and in a business dispute, she defeated a Motion to Compel all documents related to her client’s merger with Banc Home Loans, saving her client thousands of dollars; in a criminal matter described as the largest healthcare fraud in California’s history, she convinced the District Court to altogether decline to award restitution; and she obtained Summary Adjudication and Judgment on the pleadings for a general contractor and its CEO, fast-tracking the case to final resolution. Outside of court, her favorite part of practice is time spent with clients.

Ms. Mojtehedi attended the University of California Irvine School of Law. In addition to numerous academic awards, she externed for the Honorable Alex Kozinski of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and won first place and Best Advocate in the law school’s Trial Advocacy Competition. Ms. Mojtehedi teaches Trial Advocacy as a lecturer at the University of California Irvine, and is a board member and the Chapter Secretary for the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of Women in Defense, a nonprofit professional organization that cultivates and supports the advancement and recognition of women in all aspects of national security
