Ms. Robitaille is a Paralegal in our California Office, whose emphasis and specialty is Immigration Law.
From March 2014 to November 2015 Renee lived in Vietnam and worked with an NGO to research and consult on setting up a social enterprise business that would provide living wage jobs and potentially give training and jobs to adults with disabilities. She met with other business colleagues in HCMC and Bangkok, as well as local lawyers to obtain a perspective as to how a business is established within the county.
She studied Vietnamese at Trường Đại Học Bách Khoa in Hanoi, and local friends were always happy to correct her tones and enunciation. The cross-cultural training she received greatly assisted her in adjusting to life in the city of Hanoi, as well as establishing a sensitivity to the differences between the U.S. and Asian cultures. This enabled her to establish excellent relationships with both the locals and the expats.
Renee was a sole proprietor as a Freelance Graphic Artist designing and producing digital art for direct clients, as well as advertising agencies. After many years as a graphic artist Ms. Robitaille made the decision to pursue a career in the law. She graduated from UCI’s Paralegal Certification program and, concurrent with her matriculation, she worked for a couple of local law firms in order to gain on-the-job legal experience.
Renee earned her Associate Degree in General Studies from Orange Coast College; her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Illustration at California College of the Arts; and her Paralegal Certification from the University of Irvine (a 2 year American Bar Association Accredited Program).
